Nort Salz, President and Co-Founder
Nort has more than 30 years' experience as an executive and consultant. He has worked with executives and teams at all levels in leading and managing change, decision-making, operations improvement, and team and individual development. Since 2002 he has concentrated exclusively on helping property and casualty carriers achieve their goals through implementing the Deep Customer Connections value proposition: If you make it easier for your agents to place more business with you, they will. In particular, he helps carriers better understand and act on their strengths and opportunities.
Nort's clients include West Bend Mutual, Hanover, Kemper, SECURA, Union Standard, State Auto, Foremost, United Fire Group, MMG, Red River Valley, and others.
Earlier in his career, Nort served in a variety of industries, including financial services, biotech, manufacturing, high tech, pharmaceuticals, and consumer products. He held management positions at Colt Industries (Fairbanks Weighing Division), Anheuser-Busch Companies, and ComputerVision Corporation. He began his consulting work with Rath & Strong, Inc. and Situation Management Systems, Inc.
His articles have appeared in Insurance Journal, The Standard, Property and Casualty Insurance, and The Association for Quality and Participation. He is the author of "Building Process Improvement Teams: A Basic Guide to Team Development." Nort earned an undergraduate degree in Aeronautical & Astronautical Engineering and a Master's degree in Education, both from the University of Illinois. His avocation is raising specialty grass-fed beef, and he likes to ski and play at the ocean with his extended family.
